With mining of the Loharano deposit, and the development of the Mahefedok deposit, there are two other exploration projects in the development pipeline at Graphmada: the Mahela and Ambatofafana deposits.
Preliminary exploration activities over the Mahela and Ambatofafana prospects have been underway since 2014 and results obtained from exploration work (including geological mapping and sampling), confirm that these prospects contain significant Regolith-Hosted Flake Graphite Mineralisation.
Geological mapping and outcrop sampling at the Mahela prospect confirmed graphite mineralisation coinciding with at least two northeast-southwest historical mapped graphitic gneiss units. The mineralised zones strike at least 270 metres and 330 metres respectively. Outcrop sample results returned up to 6.9%GC.
Geological mapping and outcrop sampling at the Ambatofafana prospect confirmed graphite mineralisation coinciding with at least two north-south historical mapped graphitic gneiss units and a historical graphite working. Outcrop samples results returned up to 11.0%GC. At the Ambatofafana graphite working, three continuous channel samples returned a weighted average of 5.3%GC over 3 metres.
