Safety and Loss Control Policy
The Directors and Management of Bass Metals Ltd (BSM) are firmly committed to ensure that the Company is safety conscious, with all work activities carried out safely, and with all possible measures taken to remove and control risks to the health, safety and welfare of employees, contractors, authorised visitors, and anyone else who may be affected by our operations.  BSM personnel shall ensure that all of their activities are carried out in the manner required by the appropriate legislation, standards and industry codes of practice, and that a healthy and safe workplace is maintained. This shall be achieved by BSM providing adequate financial and human resources and all BSM personnel, to the extent that their responsibilities require, actively participate in:
  • Ongoing training and supervision;
  • Ongoing accident prevention awareness;
  • Risk Assessment and hazard control;
  • Development and adherence to safe operating procedures;
  • Wearing protective clothing and equipment;
  • Emergency response management, including participation in evacuation drills;
  • Planned maintenance and inspection program; and,
  • Maintain facilities for the welfare of employees.

All BSM personnel share the responsibility of ensuring the safe wellbeing of all persons in the workplace. This will be achieved by:

  • Adhering to safe work practices, instructions, rules and statutory regulations;
  • Performing all tasks in a safe manner;
  • Taking reasonable care for their own health and safety and ensuring that no-one is allowed to work in an unsafe/unhealthy situation or in an unsafe manner;
  • Isolating all dangerous situations and promptly reporting all accidents and incidents, unsafe practices and conditions;
  • Comply with any direction given by management in relation to health and safety;
  • Not misuse or interfere with anything provided in the interest of health and safety; and,
  • Co-operating with fellow workers to ensure that everyone's responsibilities are fulfilled.

Acceptance of these responsibilities by all parties, and the development of a team attitude to safety, training, and the control of accidental loss are essential for the development and maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment with a zero accident rate
This policy applies to all BSM business operations and functions, including those situations where employees are required to work off-site.
